New webpage, who dis?!

Welcome to the new look webpage and quiz system.

Welcome to the brand new launch of the NZFBI webpage and quiz system!

As you probably worked out, we were outgrowing the software platform that we had previously been using, and then they dropped a bomb on us and changed our legacy plan on us, limiting us to only having three lives quizzes at a time (we had over 80....), so we had to quickly pivot and come up with a quick and dirty solution as we had emails, texts, DM's and phone calls coming in hot and fast saying the system was down! This resulted in Council member "Tiny" tucking in to a couple of cases of sugar free Razzle Berry flavour Mother energy drinks then getting onto a metric shittonne of copying and pasting into Google Forms as a workaround. This kind of worked, then we got hit with some error either at the FENZ IT HQ, or from deep down in Google itself, where the notification of completion emails weren't sending...doh!

I have to thank the entire NZFBI Council for your work around these challenges, and I thank the firefighters out there that have reached out

Port42 Developments came to our rescue and built this whole new shiny website for us with all the bells and whistles that we never even dreamed of.

Port42 builds and supports websites, custom software, automation, hosting and IT for organisations across New Zealand, so if you need a hand, give them a shout! We have had nothing but great experiences in this journey!

We now have a great new feature called NZFBI LIVE, which is an interactive quiz and training tool that you can run for the whole brigade, involving everyone and testing their knowledge with some added banter and competition, along with our other quizzes.

Because Tiny is still jacked up on Mother, he may have made some copy and paste errors, so as an incentive, if you find one and let us know, you get a virtual chocolate fish as a reward! (Limited time only, T's and C's apply).

But seriously, this has been a massive effort, and as a Council, we'd love some feedback on the new page, format and other changes, so drop us a line: [email protected]
